And rightly so \u2014 they are crafted by a husband-and-wife duo devoted to the art of fragrance in their atelier, nestled in the mountains of Japan\u2019s Gunma Prefecture. <\/span>At first, the idea of incense inspired by chocolate or cacao may seem unexpected. Yet the moment a stick is lit, CACAO invites us to rediscover what incense can truly be.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cacao forms the heart of this composition, complemented by notes of dried fruits and cypriol, also known as nagarmotha \u2014 a prized aromatic ingredient in India, extracted from the fragrant roots of the plant.\n\nYet the result is far from a straightforward, sweet chocolate fragrance. It is a layered, subtle olfactory ritual that begins somewhere in the memory of cacao and gradually unfolds into a deeper, almost sacred stillness.<\/span><\/p>\n
